Die Bundeswehr in NATO Mission Afghanistan
As the Operation of ISAF in Afghanistan will enter the exit strategy there will be some changes, comprising of new responsibilities, for die Bundeswehr in the region.
At the request of the NATO and the Afghan Government, die Bundeswehr will continue its Operation in Afghanistan in 2015. The decision was reached on 19 November by Berlin. And the new mandate will be activated from January 2015 until the end of December 2015.
With about 850 Military personnel, the next phase of Bundeswehr’s Mission in the region will constitute not only the Training, Supervising and Assisting the Afghanistan Security Forces but simultaneously die Bundeswehr will be in charge of security and protecting the other NATO Forces in the region also.
