The Flood Relief 2013 Award of die Bundeswehr for the Austrian Armed-Forces

The  German Defense Attaché in die Deutsche Botschaft Wien, Oberstleutnant i.G. Joachim Timmer, awarded four Soldiers of the Federal Armed-Forces of Austria with the recognition Medal of  “Flood Relief 2013”                                                                                                                        The four members of the Austrian Army were at the time on the internship programme with the German Army Unit.

The ceremony which was attended by the Representatives of the Austrian Ministry of Defence and the Partners of the Excellent Soldiers,  marked the appreciation of die Bundeswehr for a significant help that the members of Austrian Armed-Forces provided during the flood disaster at the end of May and beginning of  June 2013 in Deutschland.

Die Bundeswehr’s Project on  Kriegsgräberfürsorge (VdK) in  Wien

On the August 1st 2014, after two weeks of intensive works, die Bundeswehr finalized its project on Kriegsgräberfürsorge (VdK) in Central Cemetery of Vienna.                                                                                                                                                                   The project was in cooperation with the German War Graves Commission (VdK),  the participation of Austrian Armed-Forces.  And it was carried out with the outstanding  patriotic commitment, during several years, from die Officers of die Bundeswehr’s University in München.

On the last day of the project, with the presence of the German Defense Attaché in Wien, Oberstleutnant i.G. Joachim Timmer,  des Landesgeschäftsführers Wien, Niederösterreich und Burgenland  Ing. Otto Jaus, the Military personnel from the  Austrian Armed-Forces,  the Officers of die Bundeswehr laid a wreath in memory of the more than 7,500 fallen German soldiers of the second world war, in the German War Memorial.
