Deutschland provides new Humanitarian Help for Ukraine

On February 18, the Federal Foreign Minister Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier announced the allocation of extra 10 million euros, by Federal Foreign office, for Humanitarian Emergency relief aid for Eastern Ukraine.

Second to the US as the largest donor for Ukraine, Deutschland has already in 2014 provided 120 million euros, as a part of aid for supporting stability in the country.

On the other fronts, in September 2014 the Federal Foreign Office announced its support for contributing Human Resources to the EU Civilian Mission in Ukraine.

  • This includes: 20 German Law-Enforcements and Civilian experts in EU Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform in Ukraine EUAM Ukraine  The Mission is mandated for two years.

 

At the request of the Federal Foreign office and the government of Ukraine, die Bundeswehr has been already engaged in Ukraine since March 2013 by sending flying intensive care unit and Military Observers in the country.
